May 21st Honor Flight Mission- Success!
Our second mission this year has been competed. The May 21st was a great success, although we had some weather elements to deal with, the Veterans from World War II and the Korean War Veterans marched on as the real troopers that they are and all had a great day. We visited the WWII Memorial, went to Arlington National Cemetery to witness the Changing of the Guard, drove by and around the Air Force Memorial and stopped by the Marine Memorial, better know as the Iwo Jima Memorial. Eastern Air Lines really went all out with a hot meal on the way home, and of course, the Homecoming Parade. Unbelievable.
Now we look forward to out next flight, October 8th.
Not wanting to jinx our chances for something really BIG this fall, but this flight could be the LARGEST Honor Flight to DC, ever, for any hub in the country. We will keep you informed via the general meetings and via email.
So what does this mean? Very simply, we will be needing everyone's help in seeking out WWII Veterans for this flight. Now is the time to tell your neighbors, co-workers, friends, everyone that we need their help in recruiting Veterans for this mission.
